And you’ll never guess the man in charge of achieving it – Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller
Okay, we’ve been waiting with baited breath to discover what the warped genius behind Pushing Daisies , Bryan Fuller, was going to give us next. Okay, there was that announcement that he’s scripting a live action Pinocchio movie, but what we really wanted to hear about was a new TV project he’s going to mastermind.
We never expected this.
But somehow, it makes complete ghoulish sense.
According to Entertainment Weekly ’s Mike Ausiello (opens in new tab) , Fuller is now developing a radical reboot of ’60s sitcom The Munsters for NBC. And when we say radical, we mean radical. Ausiello reckons he’s been told it’s going to be a combination of “ Modern Family meets True Blood ,” which sounds intriguing, to say the very least. But NBC is a major network, so maybe we won't be getting to see too much of Herman and Lily Munster’s pervy bedroom antics (shame).
Auseillo does warn that only a pilot has been ordered so far, but also hints that Guillermo Del Toro may serve in some behind-the-scenes capacity. We’re already crossing our fingers for a series green light.
