Spend a Weekender in Camber Sands

The dunes of Camber Sands, beware of spice worms.

It’s sad to think, but at some point the SFX Weekender will have to come to an end. While the event’s underway there’ll be so much mind-blowing stuff to do you may never want to leave of course, but there’s a reason why Camber Sands is the perfect place to hold the definitive sci-fi extravaganza of the year.

Whether you want to wind down from that post- party buzz, or plan on heading to Sussex extra early to ensure you don’t miss a single solitary second of SF heaven, Camber Sands and the surrounding area offers an enchanting treat for visitors. In fact we wouldn't be surprised if a few of you make regular jaunts to East Sussex already.

Eternally popular with tourists for all the right reasons (no seedy casinos or underwhelming multi-coloured street lighting in sight) Camber Sands is situated on seven miles of award winning Blue Flag beaches. And if you’re the adventurous type the White Cliffs of Dover, historic port town of Rye and old Smugglers’ Hideouts can all be found a stone’s throw away.

It’s the perfect place to take a break at any time of year. There’s the Blue Reef Aquarium, Camber Castle, Rye Heritage Centre and brilliantly, Drusilla’s Park, - no crazy vampires terrorizing the joint at night, we promise. It’s the perfect package, we can only hope there’s a Poughkeepsie gopher on site to induce a Groundhog Day-style never ending weekend.

And don’t forget if you haven’t booked your place at the SFX Weekender tickets are still available for the event taking place on 5-6 February 2010, head to SFX Weekender for all the information.
