BBC Official Confirmation

After heated speculation in the press, the BBC has officially confirmed that Billie Piper WILL be returning to Doctor Who in series four of the new show.

She will star in three episodes towards the end of the series, which means that in at least one episode there will be three companions (maybe four if rumours about Captain Jack returning are true) – Rose, Martha and Donna.

The rumours were stoked when posters to The Doctor Who Forum reported seeing Piper on set filming an episode directed by Graham Harper.

The BBC press release also confirms that the show will be back in March 2008. So if past form is anything to go by, the new season should kick off on 22 March, Easter weekend.
