Wishing on a Stardust

When we caught up with Neil Gaiman, writer of the original graphic novel, at this year’s Comic-Con he told us: “Whatever genre of film The Princess Bride has sat alone in for the last 20 years, Stardust is in that genre too.” If the promise of a successor to one of the finest fantasy films of the ‘80s hasn’t quite piqued your interest, you might want to take a gander at these clips before Stardust goes on general release from Friday 19 October .

The film’s the story of a guy called Tristan (played by Charlie Cox) who tries to impress the love of his life (Sienna Miller) by finding a fallen star – a star that’s turned into Claire Danes on impact. As always happens on the big screen, however, Tristan’s not the only one on the hunt for the star; the seven sons of king Peter O’Toole and a witch (Michelle Pfeiffer) who reckons its power will make her young again are also looking for a little piece of Stardust.
