Arrow/Flash spinoff series in the works

Prepare yourself for a major comic book jaw-dropper! Deadline reports that The CW are cooking up a new DC superhero spinoff, set to include many fan favourite characters from both Arrow and The Flash.

According to the trade outlet, the upcoming show is being dubbed a ‘superhero team-up’ with the network planning to enlist four stars from both series. Arrow’s Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz, and The Flash’s Victor Garber and Wentworth Miller are set to reprise their roles.

What’s not made clear is the nature of Lotz’s involvement. The experiences of her character in Arrow all but confirmed she would not be able to re-appear. We suspect some inventive plotting will no doubt solve that dilemma.

In addition, Deadline adds that the new project will include three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series. As it stands DC’s comic book back catalogue is comprehensive, offering the network plenty of material to mine from for this next outing.

The as-yet untitled show will be shepherded to the screen by the creative minds behind Arrow and The Flash Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim. It is expected to arrive sometime next season.
