Spurious Awards Of The Week

Cosplay Costume Of The Week

Tweeted this week by Cat Taylor , assistant (or Girl Friday, as she puts it) to Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss (and writer of the show's production blog): “I don't know who this dude is, but it has to be the best #Gameofthrones #sdcc costume I HAVE EVER SEEN.”

Security Lapse Of The Week

In Continuum , the Vancouver police force have some very snazzy see-through boards containing images and notes on all their suspects/cases. But is it wise to place them right in front of a window so anybody in the building opposite can read all that classified information quite happily with the help of a pair of binoculars?

Recruitment Ads Of The Week

Choose your side! (And remember, Star Wars was little more than a propaganda film for the rebels! There’s no shame in opting for the shiny white armour, though your chances of getting through the selection process may rest on your resemblance to Temuera Morrison). Artist Gattadonna designed these limited-edition prints specially for Star Wars Celebrations over the past six years, with the latest, "The Guns of Endor," offered for sale at the gala event in Orlando this August. Time To Be Serious Of The Week

You may notice that the Awards are rather shorter than usual this week. We did have a whole bunch of Dark Knight Rises and Batman-related Awards to present as well, but under the circumstances, laughing at Batman’s expense doesn’t seem at all appropriate, so we respectfully removed them all before posting. We’re pretty sure you understand.
