RadioRadar podcast 79: Sticking Truth

This week's news is mostly sad, but there's plenty of fun to talk about in this week's RadioRadar! We discuss South Park's RPG, wrestling (for some reason), and why it's SO GOOD to be a gamer.

Hosts: Hollander Cooper, Lucas Sullivan, Tom Magrino, Lorenzo Veloria, Henry Gilbert
Question of the week: What unorthodox actor would you cast as Joel in the Last of Us movie? Answer to win a cool game or something else from around the office!

    Arnold Schwarzenegger obviously!
  • arehexes - March 11, 2014 11:01 p.m.

Jason Statham, just because I would love to see him in a zombie-ish movie.
  • TanookiMan - March 11, 2014 6:57 a.m.

I would cast Troy Baker as Joel. No one would expect that guy who voiced him and did his mocap to ACTUALLY play him in a movie!
  • JakePPetersen - March 10, 2014 8:46 p.m.

I would go with Brad Pitt. He already helped to ruin one great zombie property (World War Z, probably one of the best books of the 2000s decade) when it came to the silver screen. It'll be great to see how he helps bring down the Last of Us. In case you couldn't tell, I'm very skeptical of medium transfers.
  • rainn'sgaydar - March 10, 2014 8:32 p.m.

I'd like to see Andrew Garfield as Joel because it would just as jarring to see Joel skateboard as it was to see Spider-man skateboard. If he was unavailable, I'd settle for Ellen Paige as Joel.
  • n00b - March 10, 2014 9:58 a.m.

Or the voice actor of trunks
  • n00b - March 10, 2014 9:58 a.m.

Christina Hendricks? this is how you Hollywood right?
  • santaclouse37 - March 9, 2014 4:24 p.m.

Robin Williams. He's got the beard for it, he has a history of playing roles as older father-type figures that don't speak much (except when it's most dramatically impactful), and if you've ever seen the episode of Louie he guest-starred in, you know he's perfectly capable of holding that old, grizzled "I've seen some shit" look in his eyes. Besides, I'd be willing to bet he's still trying to fight the feel-good reputation he got stuck with after Patch Adams.
  • punishment - March 9, 2014 3:34 p.m.

I can see Liam Neeson getting this role for some reason. I'd prefer Jeffery Dean Morgan, as I can't get his face out of my head now since it's been mentioned, but I just feel like they're going to give it to Neeson.
  • kerzikstan - March 9, 2014 2:19 p.m.

I think Jim Carrey would be a pretty dope Joel. He is amazing when given a good character that doesn't involve ridiculous faces. Or we can go VGAs on this and cast Joel Mchale. Cuz Joel.
  • winner2 - March 9, 2014 12:57 p.m.

The answer is obvious. Sean Connery, because Sean Connery. Get him a wig and he's good to go.
  • pedobearclaw - March 9, 2014 7:48 a.m.

Antonio Banderas, just so GAF can finally complete the circle.
  • AwkwardLoser - March 9, 2014 4:13 a.m.

I'd cast Ellen Page or Anna Kendrick as Joel, maybe throw a prosthetic beard on em and have them cut their hair, whoever isn't Joel could be CGIed down in age and play Ellie, it would be a weird movie.
  • codystovall - March 8, 2014 10:39 p.m.

I just want the movie to be done by sock puppets
  • ljrivarola - March 8, 2014 8:21 p.m.

DiCaprio. Maybe that way he will FINALLY win an Oscar. MAYBE.
  • GLuna46 - March 8, 2014 6:09 p.m.

for the question of the week: ill go with Jamie Kennedy because of his amazing performance as the activision host in the 2007 E3 press conference.
  • GamesRadarCollanderCooper - March 8, 2014 5:50 p.m.

300 is the only movie that is both homoerotic and homophobic, but what should have troubled Henry the most is the colossal racism.
  • SunniDee - March 8, 2014 1:57 p.m.

First thing first, you California/Florida babies. I have missed 9 days of school this year with a combination of ice, snow, and Arctic temperatures (it would be below 0 before wind chill and with wind chill -15, frostbite temperatures). I have a single day of spring break left down from six days. We (New Jersey) have a way tougher time then crappy Pennsylvania in terms of hurricanes. Remember Cooper the hurricanes go through us then you guys. I have no idea why I felt compelled to type that whole spiel, however I feel better now QOTW: The perfect actor to play Joel is Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford has that gruff father look about him now, he is still fit to play an action role, and he has the acting chops to pull of who Joel is.
  • GR HollanderCooper - March 8, 2014 6:57 p.m.

Hey Dee, we're on the same side here. I lived in Bucks County, which is basically New Jersey. We shared in pain.
  • Sinosaur - March 8, 2014 1:41 p.m.

I'll just cast Brendan Fraiser, because I don't really think a Last of Us movie would end up good anyway, and despite being almost exclusively in bad to mediocre movies... I have never not loved Brendan Fraiser in any movie I've seen him in.
