The X-Files revival to debut January 2016

Fox has unveiled details of its 2015-2016 TV line-up that makes mention of a certain conspiracy-themed cult revival due to hit screens next year. A brand new limited season of The X-Files is now set to premiere in the US on Sunday January 24, 2016 as part of a two-night special event that concludes on Monday January 25. Following its double-whammy debut, each weekly episode will air on Monday nights.

Jam-packed with aliens, UFOs, and a whole host of otherworldly encounters, the original series’ run saw David Duchovny’s Agent Mulder and Gillian Anderson’s Agent Scully tasked with investigating unusual cases for the FBI. Both stars are locked in to reprise their roles for the six-episode season, alongside creator Chris Carter who will once more be thrusting his two leads into a fresh tale of the bizarre.

There’s no word yet on what specifically the iconic duo will face for this next batch of adventures, but we’d wager that Mulder and Scully will be up against something - or someone - with a connection to those little green men. The X-Files returns on January 24th at 10 PM ET.
