International artists to attend BICS 2009

Will you be attending BICS this year? The British International Comics Show takes place in Birmingham on 3 and 4 October and is the UK's largest comics convention.

Japanese manga artist Michiru Morikawa has signed as the latest international guest. Known for her distinctive art which merges children’s illustration with manga, Michiru will be helping to launch the new book by her and Sean Michael Wilson, Buskers.

In addition, BICS will be increasing other multi-cultural elements of the show this year including a panel hosted by comics historian and writer Paul Gravett, encouraging readers to discover translated works form all over the world. These include graphic novels and comics from France, Spain, Japan and Germany.

Also renowned Marvel artist Pasqual Ferry will fly in from Spain to help UK fans celebrate 70 years of Marvel Comics, along with other legendary creators like Alan Davis and Mark Farmer.

Angel artist Stephen Mooney and Doctor Who and Captain Britain writer Paul Cornell will also be attending, and will be available for signings all weekend.
