Bryan Fullers The Munsters Remake Back In Development

NBC invites the Pushing Daisies creator to have another shot at reviving the ’60s sit-com

Fuller first developed a pilot script last year for the revival show, but back then NBC decided to pass. Apparently, though, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt liked the general idea and has asked Fuller to give it another go.

Fuller’s take is reportedly a long way from the original goofball comedy about a family of monsters (including vampires, a werewolf, Frankenstein's monster and hideously beautiful young woman) trying to live in Suburban bliss, seemingly unaware they’re freaking out the neighbours. Fuller’s version will be an edgier and darker hour-long show which will explore the origins of how the residents of 1313 Mockingbird Lane. All the original main characters would remain (dad Herman, mum Lily, son Eddie, niece Marilyn, Grandpa and even Spot the dragon).

At SFX , we’d rather this made it to screen than the Bewitched remake, to be honest…
