Let’s face it. Watching Serenity (the best science fiction movie ever, according to our recent poll) isn’t much of a hardship. So what if you could feast your eyes on Joss Whedon’s space odyssey on the big screen and raise money for charity doing it? That’s the deal with Can’t Stop the Serenity, which is bringing the Firefly spin-off to cinemas across the world in the name of a good cause.
In 2006 Can’t Stop the Serenity raised $65,000 for Equality Now (click A HREF="http:// www.equalitynow.org"> here to learn more about the charity) and this year screenings are taking place in over 40 cities around the globe. The UK and Ireland play host to five screenings:
10 May: Manchester (Odeon Manchester)
16 June: Dublin (CineWorld)
16 June: Oxford (Ultimate Picture Palace)
23 June: Edinburgh
23 June: London
