Mockingbird and Lance Hunter to get Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off

The first details have emerged regarding a new TV spin-off from Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. , with Deadline reporting that the show will be headed up by Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, AKA Mockingbird and Lance Hunter.

The duo joined the main show in its second series as the former husband and wife pairing who also operate as super-spies. According to Deadline’s report, Palicki and Blood are in final negotiations over the new show, with deals expected to be concluded shortly.

The plot of the new show has yet to be disclosed, although it is understood that a storyline will be introduced in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. that will directly lead into the spin-off. Executive producer Paul Zbyszewski is expected to act as showrunner, should everything run to plan.

ABC will make a decision as to whether to give the project the green light following the delivery of a script, but it seems as though the network is keen to develop its Marvel TV brand as much as possible. Should it proceed, the show may well act as a bridging series between seasons of its parent series, although that too has yet to be confirmed.
