Like a bit of SF? Sure you do. That’s why you’re here. So you might like to consider popping along to the annual British fan convention (primarily a booky thing, but also for followers of movies, TV and other forms). This year it’s in Chester, from 6-9 April. That’s Easter weekend. Hence the popular name " Eastercon ".
Each year Eastercon (this time known as Contemplation) regularly attracts up to about 1000 people, who spend the long weekend attending talks, taking part in panels as well as just chatting to folk in the bar. It’s a good opportunity to meet your SF heroes, and numerous authors and commentators can be found sinking a pint or two between events. A couple of chaps from SFX will be there again this year.
By joining, you don't get a "ticket" as such - you become a "member" of the Easter convention and are encouraged to join in activities. So why not pop along to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Trinity Street, Chester, CH1 2BD from Good Friday to Easter Monday? Find out more here .
