ABC Boss Sings Praises Of Joss Whedons SHIELD

ABC entertainment president Paul Lee spoke very promisingly about the possibility of Joss Whedon ’s Marvel’s SHIELD TV series – currently at pilot stage – going to a series at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena today.

According to TVLine , Lee revealed that the pilot for Marvel’s SHIELD has been fast-tracked and will be ready for the network chiefs to review “a lot earlier than others,” adding that, ““Joss is very engaged and already working on scripts” for the series proper.

He reckoned the pilot script is “great… very Joss” with “a lot of funny male/female relationships” (no shit? – it’s Joss Whedon) as well as “a lot of action”.

He feels that it could be a highly co-viewed show (in other words watched by parents with their kids) in the vein of Once Upon A Time .

He added: “You know how Joss is so high/low? How he’s able to be intense and epic and suddenly funny/silly? He’s got that ability to be super-entertaining.”

Lee added that if ordered to series SHIELD could air almost anywhere, in any time slot. “Marvel has the ability to bring the whole family.”
