The CW Orders Beast, Green Arrow and Carrie Pilots

Though, sadly, The Carrie Diaries isn’t a new take on the Stephen King novel by Kevin Williamson

US TV network The CW has officially given the green light to three pilots: Arrow , Beauty And The Beast and The Carrie Diaries .

Sadly, The Carrie Diaries is not a Vampire Diaries spin-off in which Stephen King’s psychokinetic psycho-teen comes to Mystic Falls; it’s actually a Sex And The City spin-off. But the other two shows are us.

Arrow is actually the new name for the Green Arrow series we reported last week (it’s clearly suffering from what we shall henceforth refer to as “Dredd Syndrome”) while Beauty And The Beast is an update of the ’80s series starring Linda Hamilton as Catherine and Ron Perlman as Vincent. Brother And Sisters ’ Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper wrote the new script and will executive produce alongside the original show‘s creator Ron Koslow (though we wonder if he’s really involved or if his title is a courtesy), Bill Haber, C Anthony Thomas and Paul Junger Witt.

We wonder how long it’ll be before it’s just called Beast ?
