Syfy Greenlights Alphas

New sci-fi procedural show from X-Men: The Last Stand writer

The cast includes David Strathairn, Warren Christie, Malik Yoba, Laura Mennell, Ryan Cartwright and Azita Ghanizada. Callum Keith Rennie from Battlestar Galactica will guest star in the pilot, which will be directed by Lost ’s former director-in-chief Jack Bender. The show will be shot in Toronto and is expected to premiere on Syfy next summer.

But what’s happened to Three Inches , the show starring James Marsters and Torchwood ’s Naoko Mori? That was also about superdudes (though the twist here was that all their powers were a bit rubbish) and in development at Syfy? Has Alpha’s pick up meant that Three Inches is now six feet under? No, according to Deadline, the show isn’t dead yet. “ Three Inches is a terrific project that we continue to be interested in,” says Syfy’s executive vice president of original content, Mark Stern. “We are working with the producers and production company to see if there’s a way to bring it to our air as well.” Maybe it’s just us (or the cast) but Three Inches sounded the more intriguing show.
