They need to get back to creating good quality games, their plan is to stick to smartphone and app games? COME ON, how dumb are they? Denis, webmaster www.enixorigin.com

I hope that all of you guys realize that neither ff13 or ff13-2 were in the last fiscal year, the later was actually part of the year they were in the positive. Square Enix does a lot more games than final fantasies but all everyone here likes to do is just bash on 13/13-2. In fact here are some of the more popular games Square Enix titles released in the 2012 fiscal year(april 2102-march2013); Sleeping Dogs,Call of Duty:Black Ops 2, FF3/7 rereleases, Hitman:Absolution, Tomb Raider, and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD. Notice how none of those have anything to do with final fantasy 13 or the Fabula Nova Crystallis series. Another big thing is that they are literally throwing their own games under the bus. The only part that had decreased was the "division operating income" This unfolds as follows, Operating Income = Revenue - Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Labor, and other day-to-day expenses. In other words they just had terrible management of their assets and then they try to blame it on the games not selling to make them not look as terrible. The fact is that the only reason for them not losing more money was how much the revenue increased from the year before.

Well maybe its time to announce Kingdom Hearts 3 and actually release it instead of hiding behind cryptic messages, I mean come on hand held ports are fun and all but lets just release the third already.

Square Enix, not everybody enjoyed the Final Fantasy XIII games; The first, second, and now yet another, featuring Lightning? And the focus on crappy ios games needs to stop.

In other news, A new Final Fantasy Tactics game is currently being made as a social game being developed by the same people who made Final Fantasy Airforce Brigade.....Screw this world.

Funny, there is an article on Gamespot today (5/13/13) where SE blames "'an "increasingly competitive and oligopolistic" video games market in North America and Europe for poor sales of its products."

Actually it was FFXIII that sucked and FFXIII-2 that was good but it is all these other titles games that just are plain thrown together without much creativity. For any rpg to be good it has to have a good battle system and good story and lots of side quests and other things for a player to do. (Example FFVII had chocobo raising and racing.)

Hey square enix, quick tip, lower standards. Final Fantasy 13-2 was horrible, even people who liked 13 hated 2. Also i know your enthusiastic about the Wii U but no matter how better you make the Wii U version of deus Ex, dont expect massive sales on that either, especially on a game people more likely already played. If your that enthusiastic on the Wii U, make an entirely different new game.

Hey, I liked FFXIII and loved XIII-2 D: Thought it was a pretty significant improvement actually. Just uhh..pointing out that there are some people that enjoyed it..even if it seems like there aren't that many >.>
  • shawksta - May 13, 2013 9:58 a.m.

Thats fine if it you did, honestly i cant say anything as i havent played it, just saying from what i heard and that from squares point, 2 was to try to fix 13 only to have its own problems but its good to know there are people who still enjoyed them.
  • Talvari - May 13, 2013 10:49 a.m.

Mmm. Well if anything i'd say it had a lot less problems than XIII, but still had some none the less. And as much as i'd like the FF fans to appreciate the XIII series for what it is, that'll never happen and it didn't grant the company any profit. I'm happy we're getting a conclusion for the XIII series but it won't help the companies situation :/ Maybe lightning returns will end up being good but regardless people won't buy it because of the FFXIII name.

Funny enough, it was the other way around for me. I loved XIII but felt that XIII-2 was a bit dissapointing in some respects, though I still liked it. Mainly it was its heavy use of recycled areas (making most of the game feel like padding) and its uneven difficulty curve (some enemy groups were overpowered, many others were laughably easy). I'm eager to try out Lightning Returns, but in all honesty what I've seen so far hasn't impressed me much :(
  • Talvari - May 13, 2013 3 p.m.

Yeah, recycled areas always suck. But at least they added a few twists along the way xD I like all FFs though i guess, never been dissapointed thus far (main titles that is..screw the iOS ones). I'm also pretty hyped for lightning returns. I'm liking the look of the combat system, looks like it might have some skillful elements to it, and a day/night cycle is always interesting to me ever since i played xenoblade chronicles. The preview GR did on it a while ago gave me more than enough info to be hyped to be honest!

Final Fantasy fans never agree on anything. Not everyone hated XIII (myself included) and a lot of people I know actually liked it. Ironically, XIII is very similar to X and yet X is often considered one of the best games in the series by the general public.
  • macrm32 - May 13, 2013 2:35 p.m.

I haven't played XIII, only know it from an LP, but it feels more claustrophobic and less magical than X. Also, the battle system makes the game seem a bit uninterested in having you play it.

Truer words were never spoken. :D
  • Cyberninja - May 13, 2013 1:22 p.m.

Not really I liked both and Liked 13-2 more
  • BladedFalcon - May 13, 2013 7:49 a.m.

"For the current financial year ending March 31 2014, Square predicted a return to profitability." ...With what, the second sequel of one most divisive entries in the FF brand and the repackaging of the WORST Final Fantasy entry to date? Yeah, can't wait to see how they pull that off...
  • taokaka - May 14, 2013 4:37 a.m.

They're repackaging Final fantasy all the bravest?
