Unravel, the adorably crafty platforming adventure that stars a little hero made of red yarn, will be released on February 9, 2016. I'd tell you to tie a string around your finger to remember the date as a Yarny joke, but nobody does that anymore and I'm not convinced that they ever did in the first place. Just put it in your phone calendar or something.
The upcoming game from EA and Coldwood Interactive puts Yarny's unique anatomy to use, letting the miniature string person lasso branches, ferry apples across a pond, or even climb back up the thread and retry tricky jumps. Picture it like unspooling your intestines real quick to use them as a bungee cord, but way less creepy.
Unravel was a surprise announcement at EA's E3 2015 press conference, a heartfelt little adventure about reconnecting lost loves (via puzzle platforming) that doesn't tie in with any of the publisher's existing properties. It will cost $19.99 in the US, with UK prices yet to be announced.
