Watch Metal Gear Man, the story of an amputee & a Big Boss-approved arm

James Young has his Metal Gear-inspired prosthetic limb, complete with flashlight, laser, and remote control quadcopter, and now he's the star of a two-part BBC mini-documentary. The documentary begins with Young's life before receiving the arm, covers his first moments with the prosthesis, and shows how he gets on with it in the weeks and months after.

Even if the arm's a bit large and the middle finger has become obscenely stuck, it's cool to see that it helped Young find a supportive community of fellow amputees and (I mean this in the coolest way possible) cyborgs. Raiden would be proud.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
