"I know when you finished Iron Brigade the first thing you asked was,
'But what about Mars?'" Tim Schafer joked before revealing the new
downloadable content for Iron Brigade (or Trenched, as it was called
before the name change). The DLC is called Rise of the Martian Bear, and
it, obviously, takes place on the red planet. Why? Because bears love Mars. That's why.
The plot goes like this: before Monovision Vlad could be defeated, the ne'er-do-well transferred his consciousnesses to his pet bear, who then fled to the red planet to rebuild his army. Obviously. Now, players need to travel to Mars in order to kill him again, though we doubt anyone is going to be too upset about having more Trench--erm, Iron Brigade to play. The update hasn't been given a date, though it will be available "soon," according to Double Fine.
Also available in the very near future is a free update that will officially change the name of the game from Trenched to Iron Brigade. Beyond swapping the title, the update will add a handful of items and a new mode: Survival. From the sounds of things, Survival is a typical "defend until you die" game mode that has players fighting off hordes (see what we did there?) of enemies.
You can check out a full gallery of images below, showing off some very... red images. Which makes sense, because of Mars, but, you know. Very red.
