E3 2010: Rock Band 3 - Pro Mode gameplay and gear blows our freaking minds [VIDEO]

We thought we were good at music games, but this is a whole new level of "almost real"

Rock Band 3 will not make you look like a rock star. It will not win you girls, earn you millions of dollars, or force you to turn to parties, alcohol and drugs to cope with your ever-rising fame. However, if you opt to step up to the Pro Mode, with its more realistic-than-ever instruments and note tracks that are nearly identical to the actual songs, it comes DAMN close. Basically, other games teach you to pretend to ride a bike. Rock Band 3 in Pro Mode teaches you to ride that bike with training wheels.

ok... So i have a question... will the old controllers still work, and can you use any guitar for the pro mode? or do you have to buy special ones?

The people over at Harmonix are geniuses. Guitar Hero should have kept Harmonix but no they got activision. Fuck Activision. They used to be good back in the old days of THPS but not anymore. They have run out of ideas. And yeah they better make a pro bass guitar because I am a bassist too. ReCAPTCHA: Turkey valium what the hell is that supposed to mean.

Looks awesome! Can't wait! Especially once they finally announce all SKUs with pricing so I can cry a little inside knowing that I'll be selling one of my Kidneys in order to enjoy Pro Mode accross all instruments.

@Disturbed1117 Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. I really hope there's a bass controller coming out because I refuse to play bass on a guitar controller. I saw the headstock of a bass in the video so maybe it's a controller?

Can't believe how awesome this looks like it's going to be. One thing though - I would have hoped it would have more songs on-disc than the last game: RB1 had 58, RB2 had 84, I was expecting at least 100-120 to come with RB3, but apparently it'll only be 83.
