You've had a good few hours to get used to the idea of Nintendo's 3DS slide-pad, so let's take a look at one of the first titles confirmed to take advantage of the peripheral: Konami's 3D remake of modern classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. A few new screens for the game confirm that there are lots of jungles in Snake Eater and they'll look just fine on 3DS. Beyond that, there's also a look at the game's gyroscope balancing acts, another glimpse of the skydiving sequence, and a logo that's not messing about.

The 3D version of Snake Eater still won't speak English until sometime in 2012, though Japanese players will be able to assess just how much of a difference the slide pad makes to the game in November. These new glimpses probably don't offer too much beyond what you already know – but if Konami's running out of new things to tease you with, it can only mean good things for the prompt release of the potential system-seller.

As excited as I was for this, now that it's being released in HD for PS3, I doubt I will shell out $40 for it. I guess Konami skipped the Econ lecture about cannibalism.

Yes, but thats just a simple port of the same game in the same style,in HD, this is a remake that will improve on it rather than stamp HD for easy money, and will include new things, however im awaiting judgement to see what all the new additions are

Agreed completely! This can be called the first original MGS came since number 4. Ok yes its still a remake but arguably (well my favourite) best in the series. Jungle environment in 3d using the gyroscope controls and the camera function to take pics which will be in the game, how wicked is that! Now get dual sticks, so can control camera with other stick :). It is better then the exact same games just transfered into 3d on the ps3! I brought a 3ds for this game, full stop. 2012 just seems to dam far!

So, since Kojima is being stupid and not using a fixed camera for a system that only has one built-in analog slider, this is probably going to be the only decent way to play the game, I assume.

Or he could use a control scheme similar to Ocarina of Time where you use the L-button to centre the camera behind you. This is a lot better than a fixed camera.

No it isn't. Not if you've ever played a Metal Gear game.
