Battle vs Chess promises to expand on regular chess in so many ways they’re almost uncountable. Aside from mixing up chess rules and injecting RPG elements, there are also puzzle games aplenty. Of course, none of that would matter if the game was boring to look at, and based on the latest trailer, it’s easy on the eyes for sure.
Things to note: a glimpse of a gorgeous series of floating islands overflowing with waterfalls, some beatdowns with serious flair (magic swords, bolts of energy, cascades of fire), and some majestic battlefields. We didn’t see any of the puzzle modes like the gem-collecting or the Bomberman mode, but then those aren’t as pretty to show in a video.
