Konami hasn't exactly managed to endear itself to Metal Gear fans recently what with all the MGS studio shuttering and has he/hasn't he Kojima leaving rumours. So here's some good news for a change - the publisher is teaming up with a prosthetics expert to give a double amputee a new Phantom Pain-inspired arm.
The man in question is James Young, who lost an arm and a leg when he was dragged along the tracks by a train. He's a gamer and, according to Konami, has "become extremely adept at playing games one-handed". He and Konami are working with a famous prosthetic limb creator, called Sophie De Oliviera Barat, to create what's currently being described as an "eye-catching alternative limb" that will be suited to his needs.
Here's a look at some of Sophie's previous work. While she started with more traditional replacement limbs, she's since made a name for herself with far more interesting and unusual creations.
