E3 2011: 'El Shaddai' bestowed with new trailer, screenshots and release dates

Ignition Entertainment has announced its biblically-inspired 3rd person/2D platforming action game, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, will be arriving in North America on July 26th, and in the UK on September 9th. And in the event you've never seen a biblically-inspired 3rd person/2D platforming action game, the studio also posted this new trailer and a bunch of screenshots to serve as helpful primers:

Inspired by stories and characters from the Book of Enoch, a religious text associated with the Dead Sea Scrolls, the game follows the priest Enoch on his journey to find a handful of fallen angels and stop a flood from washing mankind down the drain.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is set to arrive for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Still confused? Check out these new screens:

Art looks very awesome. I'd be happy with a Bayonetta clone, that game was sweet.

just so you guys know, there actually are two attack buttons(idk why they say there arent...unless only the japanese version gets 2 attack buttons haha) but I saw an entire walkthrough of this game with english subs...@foxyexplosion I think by that they mean the designers of the game were doing allot of drugs like her, but the design is AMAZING! and its a really cool game, you just need to give it time...also you get to see a guy talk to god on a cell phone! and that guy whos talking to god IS the save point! xD

The demo's fantastic, and it's kinda like DMC/Bayonetta, but you modulate combos through timing of the single attack button in combination with guard, it's neat and different and has a good feel once you get the hang of it. Think I'm gonna have to change those voices to japanese if given the chance though, those english Voices were a little hokey

@Chris I heard someone who played the demo say it plays a bit like God of War or, more closely, Devil May Cry (except without guns, obviously).

The graphics/aesthetics are awesome, the combat looks rather turnbased or Dynasty Warriorsish sooooo.... no.
