The new Hitman is taking an interesting modular approach to release with maps, locations and missions being released over time. We've seen plenty of the initial Paris fashion show level, but now IO has shown off the new Sapienza level set in Italy.
Now, for some Hitman fans, that location looks a lot like Villa Borghese from the opening of Hitman: Silent Assassin. Check out the gallery for a comparison. It's not an exact match, obviously, but the coloration (yellow walls and orange roof) and shape, plus the placement of the pool, makes it look a lot like a modern update. There's even a delivery man in the new trailer, a nod to one of the two options you could use to sneak in unseen in the old game (or use the delivery crates to slip weapons past checkpoints, a mechanic returning in the 2015 game).
Unlike Silent Assassin though this place is huge. The trailer suggests the new location is an entire Italian town, which is looks massively exciting. Seriously, watch the trailer - all of it's playable. I'm perfectly okay with that staggered release schedule because it's going to take forever to master all the potential options in a space that big. It's probably that scale that's seen Hitman delayed from December to March, which is a shame, but looking at what IO is shooting for you can see why.
