Despite co-developer Level 5's absence from TGS, we received today a titillating bit of paper from Capcom's booth on the show floor. It's an English-language press release for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, and while details about the game are still sparse, the release contains some promising hints that all but confirm that the game will see a release outside of Japan. For one, it notes that "English names are TBD," which obviously suggests that there are plans to localize the game for English-speaking territories.

Furthermore, the English-language press release lists the title of the game as Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which is the first time we've actually seen official documentation that refers to the title of the game using the franchises' English-language names. MSRP is also listed as TBD.

While we wait for a more official confirmation, let's gaze upon the first screenshots just released today.

One of the many games, in which I decided to buy a 3DS on Day 1.

Omg Omg Omg Omg! Ty Ty Ty Ty Level 5! ooooooh Capcom... The AA fans would like AAI2 now...
  • shawksta - September 16, 2011 2:37 p.m.

Yes, YES, YEEEEEEEEES! This was definitly coming considering it got the most votes on Level 5's poll on which game should be localized. Holy Moly the 3D models are AWESOME! Not bad, its a mix of Level 5's good 3D models and Ace attorneys face expressions! With the non important characters layton style and main characters ace attorney style. Considering its a 3DS game, pics and vids wont justify how awesome the quality is compared to the actual quality from looking at the 3DS. if it looks shaky, actual quality is better, if it looks good, actual quality will be even better!
  • PrincessOrange - September 16, 2011 1:06 p.m.

Please let this and investigation 2 be released outside of Japan.
  • soranamineforever - September 16, 2011 12:52 p.m.

There was a reason Wright was meant to remain a sprite. That's all I'll say. Because if I say a word more, I'm going to sound like a fanboy.

  • ParanoidAndroid - September 16, 2011 6:34 a.m.

Hmmm, wonder why they didn't go with sprite artwork?
  • badgraphix1 - September 16, 2011 12:10 p.m.

Because then the 3D effect wouldn't really feel all that meaningful.
  • SillyPigeon - September 16, 2011 6:15 a.m.

  • oneshotfinch - September 16, 2011 12:26 a.m.

Not gonna lie, I'd drop the money for a 3DS in a heartbeat if I could be sure it'd come out in Europe.
  • CH3BURASHKA - September 16, 2011 12:12 a.m.

I remember when I first saw the trailer for the game and was blown away. I also remember when I first heard of the 3DS and was blown away. One has held up; one hasn't. The platform of choice here has become a real bummer. This'll be a game to get when the 3DS drops to 100 bucks.
  • Cyberninja - September 16, 2011 10:29 a.m.

i hope you know 3ds wont be $100 for a really long time seeing as DSlite just became $100 this year so its just a smart idea to get one now
  • Razzamoly - September 15, 2011 11:48 p.m.

I better come out in Europe though. Not just America!
  • Razzamoly - September 15, 2011 11:47 p.m.

ZOMFG!!! Now this, is one of the reasons I bought a 3DS
  • ChiChiRocket - September 15, 2011 11:21 p.m.
