League of Legends' newest champion, Shyvana, the Half-Dragon, is now available for purchase for eager summoners. Beyond having a full suite of impressive abilities, she has one trick up her sleeve that has us nostalgically remembering nights spent playing Defense of the Ancients' Knight Davion: the ability to turn into a dragon. In a new Champion Spotlight video, Riot shows off her skills, and gives some tips on how to take advantage of her unique special abilities.

Even though we weren’t all that interested in her based on the first concept art released, seeing Shyvana in action gets us pretty pumped to check her out. It wasn't that we didn't like the idea of her turning into a dragon, we loved. We just figured she'd be too similar to Nidalee, with the transformation being hard to manage and even harder to become good with. But after seeing the heroine in action it has become apparent that she is actually much more unique - whereas Nidalee’s is almost like a different character when she changes to a cat, Shyvana is more of an upgraded version of her non-dragon self. Her abilities don’t change, really, they just get enhanced, making her better for large team fights.

You can check out some images below, and the Champion Spotlight above. So, think you're going to pick it up?

She's an okay champ, though some reason the ult feels buggy.. Didn't gather anyone when they still took damage.
