UNEXPECTED GUEST STAR OF THE WEEK

.

IN-JOKE OF THE WEEK

Greg Grunberg, aka Matt Parkman from Heroes , had a guest slot on this week’s Hawaii Five-O . One of the regular characters on Hawaii Five-O , of course, is his former Heroes co-star Masi Oka. Seems the writers couldn't resist a shout-out in a scene that would have completely flummoxed any viewer who had no idea of their history...

Max (Oka): “Do I know you?”
Jeff (Grunberg): “I don’t think so.”
Max: “Yes, I think we’ve met before.”
Jeff: “No, I think I would’ve remembered a guy like you.”
Max: “I’m rarely wrong about previous human encounters. You are...” [Thinks really hard]
Jeff: “Jeff Morrison.”
Max: [Looks baffled] “Oh.”

PORTRAITS OF THE WEEK

An artist called Wolf has created literally dozens of sci-fi-themed watercolour portraits that are simply downright glorious. See if you can work out what these ones are (they’re all games characters) before you go to his site (where they’re all labelled). But we’ll give you the one below for free… it’s Doctor Horrible. Thanks to Unreality Magazine for starting on us on the path to discovering this guy.

SOB STORY OF THE WEEK

We’ll leave the intro to Blastr : “Remember how, way back in the pilot, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) gave a walkie-talkie to a guy named Morgan (Lennie James) and told him he'd get in touch to let him know how to catch up? Well, Grimes has been broadcasting ever since, but as the following video shows, he’s forgotten one very important technical matter.”

.

PAPERCRAFT CREATION OF THE WEEK

This video takes a little while to get going, but give it 30 seconds – once you realise he’s not making an Airfix Spitfire or something – and we'd be surprised if your jaw wasn’t heading floorwards. The man behind it is Taras Lesko, and you can discover a lot, lor more about this project here .
