Final Fantasy Dissidia sequel coming March 22

If you've been itching to kick the living crap out of all the latest Final Fantasy heroes, you'll have your chance soon enough. Square Enix has just revealed the North American release date for the next installment in its multi-title character battling sensation.

It's official title is Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy but we prefer to just call it the Dissidia sequel, or maybe Dissidia 012. In addition to all the classic FF characters like Cloud, Sephiroth, and Squall, the sequel adds in new characters like Vaan and Lightning, as well as more legacy heroes including Tifa and Kain.

A star-studded voice acting cast including Eachael Leigh Cook, Steve Burton, and George Newbern lend voices to the game, giving it as much fanfare as possible for the Final Fantasy fanatics.

There is a single-player story mode to add some cohesion to the character-packed adventure, but the star is the multiplayer mode, which offers a Super Smash Bros style of good old fashioned beat-the-crap-out-of-everyone gameplay. For the less violently inclined, there are also co-op multiplayer options for the story mode, allowing players to back up each other in combatting a common enemy.

All of this will be yours for $30 when the PSP game is released on March 22. You are now free to pick your mains and say why your favorite is better than everyone else.

"Eachel Leigh Cook"? Erm. $30 does seem underpriced, but that just proves how much Square Enix loves us. DISSIDIA me. Hard.

As someone who loved the first dissidia, I am super excited for this. The name is still terrible though.

Wow, only $30? Considering how many hours I got out of the first one, that's quite a price.
