Rumor: Transformers Devastation helmed by Platinum Games

E3 leaks point to the return of everyone's favorite robots in disguise. Transformers Devastation is coming to current and last-gen consoles, and it's being developed by none other than Platinum Games, according to an early posting on Best Buy Canada's store page.

Platinum Games, the studio behind such fan-favorites as Bayonetta and Vanquish, has been teasing the lead up to an E3 announcement, even posting pictures of Vanquish on its Twitter page. Thanks to some eagle-eyed NeoGAFers who spotted a listing on Best Buy Canada's website, we've learned new details about the surprising game developed by Platinum Games (which, we have to reiterate, is not Vanquish 2).

According to the store page (which lovingly misspelled the title as 'Devestation'), the game will be all about the first generation of Transformers, including Optimus Prime, 'Bubblebee' (I'm assuming they mean Bumblebee), Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock. Peter Cullen and Frank Welker reprise their TV roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively, and the game is said to feature "PlatinumGames signature fast action" which includes "instant robot to vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos for a unique master combat system."

Of course, not much else is known about Transformers Devastation, but I'm sure we'll hear more come E3.
