Neo Geo fans will soon be able to skip the ROMs and overpriced eBay auctions and go straight to the source for their favorite SNK Playmore games. This week, the renowned Japanese game maker announced it will be lending its name to a slick, new Neo Geo Pocket system that will come ready to play with a slew of SNK classics.
As detailed at Andriasang, the portable device will sport a 4.3-inch screen, an analog “nub”, d-pad, shoulder buttons, and AV and SD ports. The Neo Geo Pocket will also ship with two gigabytes of internal storage filled with 20 pre-loaded Neo Geo titles, including:
No manufacturer has yet been named, and nothing is known about the price or release date. Even the Neo Geo Pocket name itself appears to be a placeholder. We'll update with any details we dig up. In the meantime, we suggest you stare longingly at these images and encourage Japan to release this out west.
