Does Big Walk have crossplay and how to join your friends
You have to play with others and Big Walk doesn't use matchmaking, so here's how to team up with friends
Big Walk crossplay is an important consideration for this quirky adventure, because there is no single-player mode or online matchmaking available as it's designed to be played cooperatively with the same group of friends over multiple sessions. This experience is tailored to 2-, 3-, or 4+-player groups, though up to 12 players are supported for maximum chaos!
It's likely that your friend group will be split across multiple platforms, so if you want to join them and go trekking together then here's what you need to know about crossplay in Big Walk for PC, PS5, and Switch 2.
Does Big Walk have crossplay?
Yes, Big Walk does have crossplay, which means you can go on adventures with friends whether they're playing on PC, PlayStation 5, or Switch 2. If your friends are using the same platform as you and are on your friends list, they will automatically appear in the menu to connect with. If your friends are on other platforms, the host can provide a unique Join Code for their session that anyone else can use to connect with them.
How does hosting and progress work in Big Walk?
Big Walk is a journey designed to be experienced over multiple sessions, and to maintain your progress throughout the host is the keeper of the save game. Once the host starts playing, others can connect through their platform friends list or a Join Code and continue where they left off last time, then when the host disconnects the session will end for everyone. This means you should pick your host carefully, as if they are not available to start the session then you won't be able to access your progress.
