Shenmue sire joins Premium Agency, announces work on Kinect fighting game

Little is known of the unnamed project, only that Suzuki's role on the Kinect fighter will be largely advisorial, and the game will be just one of many social, mobile and console projects to whichhe'll be lending his talentsat the Shibuya-based studio.

%26ldquo;I%26rsquo;ve been [interested in] the idea of integration of technology and entertainment faithfully as a game producer," said Suzuki during the announcement.

Premium Agency doesn't have a huge presence in the west, but it is known for its work on the Naruto series, as well as a handful of other games and CG animations in Japan. Yu Suzuki, however, is something of an industry icon on both sides of the globe. In 2003, he was even honored as the sixth person to be inducted into theAcademy of Interactive Arts %26amp; Sciences Hall of Fame.

No doubt, Premium Agencyhas attracted abig name to its ranks. It'll be interesting to see if the move does anything to increase the studio's rep outside of Japan's borders.
