If it’s always been your dream to swig cocktails – shaken, not stirred – romance beautiful double agents and drive a cool Aston Martin DB5 coupe, then this is your lucky day.

Lucky, that is, if you have around a million dollars handy. Because RM Auctions in Arizona is about to sell a silver 1965 DB5, complete with gadgets, that was used to promote the likes of Goldfinger and Thunderball.

"James Bond fans are hard-core collectors and they can afford to purchase the Holy Grail," blabs Terry Lobzun, a spokesman for the auction company. "The cars are an icon, part of international folklore.”

The Bond vehicle is just one available from the collection of the Smoky Mountain Car Museum in Tennessee. Also up for grabs are gangster Al Capone's 1928 Cadillac sedan and country music singer Hank Williams Jr's 1964 Pontiac Bonneville convertible.

But we all know you’ll be interested in getting your hands on a car that comes equipped with rockets and an ejector seat. If the price is a little too high, try an Internet toyshop – you could probably find a model for around a tenner…
