The events of Star Wars Battlefront are pulled entirely from the original trilogy, with one intriguing exception. The Battle of Jakku, which takes place shortly after the Battle of Endor and the fall of Emperor Palpatine, is the most recent (in terms of A Long Time Ago) battle of Battlefront, and now EA has released some concept art teasing how it will look in action.
First off, you may recognize that Star Destroyer in the background as the same one that showed up, minus smoke and plus 29 years worth of sand dunes, in the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But it's not just set dressing: the ship's occupants are following the lighted signs to the exit aisle, taking their AT-ATs and AT-STs with them out onto the battlefield.
With the grounded Star Destroyer still shedding flaming debris and fierce aerial battles roaring overhead, the Battle of Jakku may be the most chaotic map in Star Wars Battlefront. Maybe it's for the best that you'll have a little time to find your footing before the Battle of Jakku arrives as free DLC on December 8, or on December 1 if you pre-order.
Meanwhile, DICE is still teasing who Battlefront's next hero will be. If you want to stride valiantly into battle as Max Rebo, the famed keyboard-playing, blue-elephant man, you'd better make your voice heard in our poll.
