Amazon Prime Day PS5 deals are making a comeback next month. The actual date you can expect to see plenty of cash shaved off the best PS5 bundles, accessories, games, and more is still unknown, as Amazon is keeping tight-lipped for now. However, July is only days away, so it won't be long until we all find out.

Until then, 2025 is bound to be another ideal year to make your Sony gaming setup the envy of your gaming pals. The current-gen beast has been out for almost five years now, and so that's five years' worth of console bundles, games, and accessories that are bound to see some juicy savings. The recent price hikes amongst not just Sony hardware, but gaming as a whole, as made this year's Prime Day PS5 deals more important than ever. But Sony thankfully dropped some savings on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 PS5 bundles and the standard console, thanks to its Days of Play celebrations, so hopefully we will see deals like it will carry on into Prime Day.

Games are also ones to watch during next month's Prime Day PS5 Deals. Physical PS5 games are known for getting cheaper over time, regardless, but I recommend keeping your eyes on the biggest releases in the last 6 months - from the likes of Elden Ring Nightreign, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, in hopes of seeing their first major discounts so far.

Beyond the upcoming deals ahead, we've got a handy FAQ as well explaining the ins and outs of this year's Sony summer savings. I've been covering Amazon's biggest sales events for years now, and tracking down the best savings on Sony's current-gen beast is my bread and butter. So check back in on the big day, where I'll be using all that know-how to find the best Prime Day PS5 deals as they come.

Prime Day PS5 deals can be the perfect chance to finally make the next-gen Sony upgrade, grab some new accessories, bolster your physical game collection, or just give your existing PS5 a well-needed storage boost. This year, the PS5 is celebrating its fifth anniversary, which means there are five years' worth of goodies out there that are bound to receive some juicy price drops.

The best-value PlayStation 5 deals normally come in the form of bundles. Grabbing the Sony console alongside a game from the get-go can save you some cash even without any big sales events going on, but occasions like Prime Day can sweeten the deal - if you can be quick enough to grab one. In early 2024, Sony launched both a disc edition and digital-only PS5 Slim bundles, which came with a digital version of Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Both of these bundles also came with savings of $110 without any big sales events going on, but like Spidey, they didn't stick around for long.

The PS5 bundles I recommend trying to track down this Prime Day are the Astro Bot PS5 bundles. On the lead up to this year's summer savings, both the digital and the disc edition Astro But bundles were as low as $399.99 / $499.99 in the US, respectively. That saving of $109.99 wasn't around for long, but hopefully, we could see a re-stock and a return of those kinds of lows alongside the incoming Prime Day PS5 deals.

2025's Prime Day PS5 deals are extra alluring this year, as it's the first summer savings since the PS5 Pro has joined the family of Sony's current-gen consoles. With a $699.99 MSRP, any savings would be a nice sight to behold. Especially if you fancy yourself its 2TB worth of onboard storage and fancy performance upgrades. Alternatively, you could grab one of the best SSDs for PS5 and give your chonky launch or Slim model PS5 a storage boost of its own.

The best SSDS for gaming that are compatible with the PS5 haven't seen the major price dr But if you're fed up with the 825GB of the original PS5, you can grab 1TB PS5-compatible drives for around the $100 price mark when big saving events are involved - and hopefully this will be the case during the Prime Day PS5 deals.

Talking of the best PS5 accessories, I have my hopes set on the PlayStation Portal joining in on the deals fun next month. With its ability to now play some PlayStation Plus titles without relying on remote play, it's one of the best tools any PS5 owner can have at their disposal, but I can see how its $199.99 / £199.99 MSRP can be a bit of a deal breaker. The best PS5 controllers have gone a bit quiet this year, so with the best gamepads for the platform beginning to age, let's hope we see some nice discounts too. This year's Days of Play 2025 did shave $30 USD off the DualSense Edge for a limited time, so I'm hoping to see the premium controller be a fixture of Prime Day too.

In terms of games, they see discounts with or without sales events going on. It's what makes the PS5 one of the best consoles to collect for, as if you wait just a few months, huge AAA releases are bound to see decent price cuts. This year's Prime Day PS5 deals are gonna be the best time to find savings on the biggest releases over the last year or so. I recommend keeping a watchful eye on games released in the last 6 months, from Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, Split Fiction, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Elden Ring Nightreign. Just make sure you have a disc edition PS5/PS5 Slim, or the official Sony Disc Drive that actually runs physical games, before you rush to give your collection a boost during the Prime Day PS5 deals.

Prime Day PS5 deals: FAQ

When did Prime Day PS5 deals start?

Amazon has stated that we can expect this year's big sales event to "take place in July", however, the specific days have not yet been revealed. Even with July vastly approaching, you'll have to wait a bit longer to find out when you can expect the best PS5 deals to start dropping on Amazon.

Do you need a Prime membership for Amazon Prime Day's PS5 deals?

If you're planning to limit your shopping to just Amazon during Prime Day, having a Prime membership, or taking out a free trial is probably a good plan. It might sound silly since Prime Day is an Amazon event, but other retailers are staying competitive these days, and there are plenty of bargains to be had elsewhere. To be safe, we'd recommend that non-members think about the free trial listed below - just time it right so you can cancel after Prime Day and not pay a dime for access to the exclusive deals.

Rosalie Newcombe
Hardware Editor

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
