Now that Sony's next-gen gaming machine has very much hit its stride, this year's Amazon Prime Day PS5 deals are set to be bigger than ever. Whether it's God of War, Horizon, Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, Demon's Souls, The Last of Us, Star Wars, or the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, there's an incredible number of titles worth playing.

Best of all, PS5 consoles are now readily available. Sure, Amazon might sell out occasionally, but the likes of Best Buy, Walmart, and such now constantly have different bundles available. These have proven great ways to save on some big games or even take home some cool accessories.

In the meantime, we'll be using this Prime Day PS5 roundup to talk about our expectations for the big day, what were the top deals last year, and which retailers need your full attention to find the cheapest offers. We will then be regularly updating this piece nearer the time with all the best deals.

When do Prime Day PS5 deals start?

Prime Day 2023 is expected to take place on either July 12th or July 13th, 2023. This has been deduced by looking at last year's date. With that, there's plenty of time to prepare to make any purchase. Take a look at the cost now and work out whether you are happy to pay that or would rather wait until Prime Day to save some cash. It likely won't be monumental but you could grab $50 to $100 off a console and likely half-price on lots of PS5 games.

Do you need Prime for Amazon Prime Day PS5 deals?

Anyone that wants to participate in the official Prime Day PS5  deals will need an active Amazon Prime subscription. Amazon regularly offers free trials throughout the year, so if you don't have a subscription keep an eye out for these offers.

What to expect from Prime Day PS5 deals 2023?

God of War Ragnarok

Prime Day PS5 deals will be one of the best opportunities of the year to walk away with a console or some top games at a reduced price. With stock finally available in its droves, we've actually now seen PS5 console and PS5 digital console both taking price cuts. These aren't huge yet but they can be around $30/£30. Amazon's lowest ever is $499.00 in the US and £449.99 in the UK, so you'll want to keep an eye on Best Buy, Walmart, and Woot for the best deals.

Bundles are another great way to go. The God of War Ragnarok PS5 bundle dropped by $50 at Amazon recently, from $559.99 to $509.00. That means you're essentially paying $20 for a $70 title, and arguably, one of the best games of the last few years. We're hoping to see bundles like this drop below the $500 mark for the first time ever, or even throw in another game. The Horizon and Final Fantasy 16 PS5 bundles are most likely to be included. The latter will have just been released on June 16th, so marketing for that will be in full swing – and it is exclusive to PS5.

In terms of Sony's first-party games, we often see them hit new record lows during these sales events. Again, Amazon will normally be one to keep an eye on but Walmart has proven extremely reliable in recent times. The retailer's daily deals and clearance sales can provide some absolute bargains. While we've seen Resident Evil 4 and Hogwarts Legacy hit new lows at the retailer, there are also the likes of GTA V, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the latest FIFA games that go for below $30 to $20.

That said, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released in May at $69.99 but we saw a $10 discount at Amazon only a few weeks after launch. With that, we'd like to think it would drop to around $45 to $50 come Prime Day. There might also be unofficial PS5 bundles with it by then too. Accessories are also a good time to pick up. Sony's Pulse 3D wireless headset normally go for $100, however, we could see them drop as low as $69 during Prime Day. Plenty of options for all.
