First trailer lands for Everest

The first trailer has appeared online for Everest, Baltasar Kormákur's starry man vs. nature adventure in which Jake Gyllenhaal and a team of foolhardy mountaineers attempt to scale the titular peak during one of the most violent snowstorms ever recorded.

Cue a battle against the elements on a truly epic scale, as the luckless expedition attempts to get back to base camp in one piece. Although judging by the ferocity of the conditions on display in this first trailer, it seems unlikely that the whole party will be returning intact…

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

It looks like this one is going to be a veritable assault on the senses, as mother nature throws everything she's got at Gyllenhaal and friends. Even the combined star power of Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes and Sam Worthington might not be enough to fend her off.

Co-starring Robin Wright, Keira Knightley, Michael Kelly and Emily Watson, Everest will open in the US on 18 September 2015 and the UK the following week.
