It's set to follow the classic story of Victor Frankenstein bringing the dead back to life in the form of a horrific creature, but we can't wait to see this new twist. Oscar Isaac plays Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi is Frankenstein's monster in the upcoming movie, which also stars Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Ineson.

Yorgos Lanthimos' new film Bugonia looks as wild as you would expect from the Poor Things director. Starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, the film is a remake of the South Korean cult classic Save the Green Planet!, directed by Jang Joon-hwan. It follows "two conspiracy obsessed young men who kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth," according to the official synopsis. The rest of the cast includes Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Clueless icon Alicia Silverstone.

Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc
Release date: October 29, 2025
2025 truly is a massive year for anime fans. Following on from the success of Demon Slayer's latest movie (Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle), we also have a new Chainsaw Man movie on the horizon. Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc will bring Denji and his demon abilities to the big screen as he is thrown into a new conflict after meeting Reze, a mysterious girl who works in a café. Chainsaw Man is gory, fun, and one of the best new anime out there. Personally, we can't wait for this one.
Predator: Badlands
Release date: November 7, 2025
Prey director Dan Trachtenberg returns for another installment in the Predator franchise – but, unlike the critically acclaimed 2022 prequel, Predator: Badlands is set in the future. Elle Fanning stars as Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android, while Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi plays a young Predator. Per the film's official synopsis, he is "outcast from his clan" but "finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary." As suggested by that logline, the movie's first trailer confirms that, unlike previous installments in the Predator franchise, Badlands will make the titular aliens the focus of the story rather than the adversary coming up against a human hero. Bring it on.
The Running Man
Release date: November 14, 2025
Glenn Powell stars in this upcoming Stephen King movie, helmed by Edgar Wright. The first trailer offered a glimpse at the star-studded production, and now we want to see more! The story follows working-class Ben Richards after he is convinced by ruthless producer Dan Killian (played by Josh Brolin) to enter a deadly game. Desperate to save his sick daughter, Ben uses his instincts and grit in the game, turning him into an unexpected fan favorite – and a threat to the entire system.

Sisu: Road to Revenge
Release date: November 21, 2025
Surprise breakout action hit Sisu is coming back for a sequel this year, with actor Jorma Tommila reprising his role as silent assassin Aatami Korpi. Judging by the blood-soaked first trailer, we can expect the same amount of brutality. Written and directed by Jalmari Helander, who wrote and directed the original film, Sisu: Road to Revenge sees the hero going against the Red Army of the USSR and the officer responsible for the deaths of his family.
Wicked: For Good
Release date: November 21, 2025
The second and final part in Jon M. Chu's adaptation of the iconic musical Wicked arrives at the end of this year. Titled Wicked: For Good, after one of the movie's most anticipated songs, it will pick up in the aftermath of the first film. If you'll recall, this saw Elphaba on the run after refusing to bend to the will of the Wizard. Expect more songs, seriously emotional moments, and some neat twists in the second half.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
Release date: November 26, 2025 (cinemas)/December 12, 2025 (Netflix)
The third installment in Netflix's hit Knives Out franchise arrives in 2025 with Wake Up Dead Man. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the movie follows the same convention as the first two, with a rotating cast revolving around Daniel Craig's Benoit Blanc. Per the official tagline, "Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there are no second chances."
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution
Release date: December 5, 2025
If you can't wait to see Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, this new compilation movie offers a first look at the new episodes one month early. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution combines a recap of the previous season's Shibuya Incident arc with the first two episodes of season 3, and it's arriving in US theaters on December 5. The next chapter, which adapts The Culling Game arc from the manga, will focus on Kenjaku's brutal tournament, where the stakes are higher than ever.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
Release date: December 19, 2025
It feels like it's been too long since we had a new Avatar movie, but thankfully James Cameron's epic fantasy world returns in 2025. The third installment, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, focuses on a new clan, the volcano-dwelling "Ash People". Most of the major stars return, including Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, and Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch. A lot is still up in the air about what the movie will focus on, but it's certain it will be visually stunning.
Anaconda
Release date: December 25, 2025
Jack Black and Paul Rudd star in Anaconda, a comedy which, in a way, pays homage to the 1997 movie of the same name, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube. The new Anaconda follows two childhood best friends as they hit a midlife crisis and decide to head out into the Amazon to remake their favorite movie. However, the snake they rented is killed while filming, so the team decides to venture deeper into the jungle to find a bigger snake... A terrible, terrible idea.
