John Carter Of Mars Will Be “Historically Accurate”
John Carter Of Mars director Andrew ( WALL-E ) Stanton has told MTV that there’s still a long way to go with the movie, even if the live action elements have wrapped. “I’m not in post-production — I'm in digital principal photography now,” he says, “which goes on for the rest of 2011, so I’m only halfway through the movie.” Of his approach to the movie, he adds, “I didn’t try to make it look like anything else. I really tried to make it its own thing. I tried to make a very historically accurate Martian film if that makes sense, so I'll let you decipher that.” Um, sorry… nope.

NBC Orders Grimm Pilot
Former Angel exec producer David Greenwalt is set to oversee a new fantasy TV pilot series for NBC called Grimm. According to Deadline , it’s “a dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist”. Interesting that NBC should pick this up so soon after ordering pilots as well for the very similar sounding Poe (Edgar Allan Poe as the world’s first detective) and 17th Precinct (Ron Moore’s proposed series that combines police procedural with magic). Surely all three won’t get the greenlight for a series?
