Adrien Brody finds time to Splice

Acting against zombies and giant apes clearly gave Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody the taste for some sci-fi fantasy action.

How else do you explain two actors usually found in indie movies signing on board a thriller that focuses on two young scientists becoming superstars by splicing together different animal DNA to create amazing new creatures. Of course, this being a dark peek into the dangers of genetic engineering, they naturally have to mix things up by adding a little human DNA. And we all know what that leads to: the running and the screaming and the tearing and the ripping.

Cube’s Vincenzo Natali is handling the megaphone chores, having penned the script with Antoinette Terry Bryant and Doug Taylor. Oh, and Guillermo Del Toro is one of the executive producers, which makes us hopeful.

Splice starts shooting this November in Toronto.
