Josh Trank denies Matthew Vaughn has filmed Fantastic Four reshoots

Josh Trank has had an eventful couple of months, reportedly having a number of run-ins on the set of Fantastic Four before dropping out of the second Star Wars spin-off under something of a cloud. Rumours over the weekend also reported that Fantastic Four reshoots have been turned over to Matthew Vaughn, but according to Trank, that isn't the case…

"While MV has been very supportive, he's never been to our set," said Trank via his Twitter account. "There's only been 1 director of FF2015. Me." Trank went on to reveal he has never met Vaughn in person, while supporting player Tim Blake Nelson was also recently quoted as saying that Trank was responsible for filming all reshoots.

"They’re written by Simon Kinberg and they’re being directed by Josh," said Nelson of the additional scenes, "and these are two very strong-willed, opinionated people, so I can’t imagine there’s gonna be some wild departure from what they had in mind when they first set out to collaborate. I think it’s probably going to be an effort to underscore what the movie is all about."

Co-starring Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 6 August 2015, and the US the following day.
