Drew Goddard in talks to write new Daredevil TV show

Last week saw the momentous announcement of Marvel’s TV-centric plans for some of its top characters, with new Netflix shows planned for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Marvel has swiftly followed that up with the first step towards staffing those projects, with Drew Goddard apparently in talks to pen the Daredevil series, according to The Wrap .

Having worked on the likes of Lost , Alias and Buffy in his career, Goddard would seem a good fit for this kind of small-screen geekery, and indeed, has previously waxed lyrical about Matt Murdock in an interview with Collider .

“You’re talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his walls growing up,” said Goddard. “When I was 18 I still had the blood-red door with the ‘I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.’ If we can find the right project, I’d love to do it.”

Meanwhile, Jessica Jones has also landed a new scribe, with Dexter alumnus Melissa Rosenberg in place to write and executive produce the show.

The Daredevil series is set to be first out of the gate in 2015, before Jessica Jones , Iron Fist and Luke Cage follow it in that order. Exciting times to be a comic-book fan…
