Silver Surfer's trailer-blazing

Superhero flicks are notorious for taking a sophomore effort to really settle into their own. A lot of screen time is given to develop characters, show the origins of their powers and basically set the scene for the franchise. This causes most of the high-octane stuff to be sent packing to back of the queue where it usually bumps into the final act and end credits.

Well, if this new trailer is anything to go by (and we really hope it is) the action has seriously been anted-up for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

This new trailer shows more of the Surfer’s destructive power and his uncanny impersonation of Laurence Fishburne. It also reveals new plot threads in the film, such as the swapping of powers between Johnny Storm and The Thing, which could in fact cause many Fantastic Four purists to burst into a ball of flames.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer will be released in cinemas on the 15th June.
