Bridget Jones will return

Looks like Britain’s best-known singleton will be back for another round of wine-quaffing and panicking about life.

Production company Working Title has confirmed that it’s busy developing a third outing for Bridget, which will most likely channel Helen Fielding’s columns on Bridget desperately trying to have a baby.

It's just speculation of course, as the film won't be shot until late next year and doesn’t have a script yet.

The one thing Working Title is counting on though is Renee Zellweger returning to the lead.

Zellweger was reluctant to return for Edge Of Reason, after putting on two stone for the role in the first movie.

And if our own weight loss programs are anything to go by, shedding the fat won't be easy now that she's older.

We expect that Working Title will put up a fair bit of cash though, especially after the disappointing performance of The Boat That Rocked
