Brett Ratner will be Hunting Eichmann

When pondering who to put in charge of a politically-charged drama about the hunt for prominent Nazi and Holocaust architect Adolf Eichmann, the director of Rush Hour wouldn’t necessarily have been top of our list.

However, that’s what’s happening, as Brett Ratner’s next directorial project has been confirmed as Hunting Eichmann , a post-war thriller charting the efforts of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to track down the Nazi war criminal after his flight to Argentina.

Eventually tracked down and hanged in 1962, Eichmann was one of Hitler’s most respected lieutenants, and a key figure in the organisation and administration of death camps designed to facilitate the Final Solution.

Ann Peacock ( The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe ) has signed on to pen the script, whilst Ratner will share production duties with Little Miss Sunshine ’s Anthony Bregley.

It’s certainly a change of pace for Tower Heist director Ratner, although given that the material doesn’t actually cover the Holocaust itself, only the chase for one of its perpetrators, perhaps it won’t be the car-wreck some will inevitably be fearing...
