Prime Day Kindle deals 2025: What to expect from October's Big Deal Days
Are you ready for Prime Day Kindle Deals this October? Here's what you need to know
1. Today's best deals
2. What to expect
3. FAQs
Amazon has confirmed that its October Big Deal Day event is returning, and that means that a second batch of Prime Day Kindle deals will be with us in a few short weeks. July's Prime Day sale didn't actually bring us the best offers we hoped for, so let's all cross our fingers and hope that the full sweep of E-readers gets price cuts this October.
I've been covering Kindle deals during Prime Day for years now, and since these highly coveted digital libraries barely ever go on offer, I'm always excited to seek out the best prices. Annoyingly, Kindles are Amazon born and bred, which means they aren't really available anywhere else, so the competing retailers are only options for you for competitior devices, not price checking. Nonetheless, there are a lot of great E-readers out there, and before the discounts arrive, I'm here to help you find the right one for you.
I'll be keeping this page updated as we get closer to the big day (October 7). Until then, you can scroll down to find out what I expect for October's Prime Day Kindle deals, you can find answers to finer detail questions, and you can even catch a list of deals I've put on ice since July and brought out of the freezer for you.

What to expect from Prime Day Kindle deals 2025?
Amazon likes to use its homemade devices to frontload its Prime Day sales, which means that you can pretty much always expect a range of Kindles to go on offer during them. I've seen the full suite of Kindles go on offer in previous events, and others, like July's, were a bit leaner. I'd hope that October will bring a larger wad of E-readers down in price since it's going to be a shorter, more intense sale. Although, one or two models usually get a standout discount that starts a week or so before the official start of the event. These early bird offers are well worth keeping up with, particularly if you have one model of Kindle in mind; you could be in with a chance of getting in before the crowds.
Over the last few years, Amazon has launched a large range of Kindles that cater to different styles of readers. There are multiple models - from the standard Kindle, to the Paperwhite model, to Kids options, to the pricey Oasis and Scribe – but the good news is that they all saw various discounts during past Prime Day and "big deal days" events.
The regular 2022 Kindle has been out for a while now, and it tends to see the same kinds of discounts every time there's a Prime-exclusive sale. A 15% discount is what we see most often, bringing it down to $10 higher than its lowest-ever price of $74.99. This isn't a bad deal for what is likely the most popular Kindle device, but we cross our fingers for an even lower price of $69.99. Unfortunately, back in October's sale last year, we didn't see the regular Kindle go on offer. Let's all pray to Papa Bezos that this October's event delivers the goods.
Perhaps the most impressive discount we saw in July's Prime Day sales this year was the Kindle Scribe, which dropped to an impressive low of $254.99. This was especially tempting for folks who wanted a digital notebook as well as an e-reader. It was also one of the first official Prime Day exclusive deals we spotted on the entire digital store, which goes to show how much of a spotlight Kindles get in these sales.
One thing to look out for is the Kindle daily deals, since these get you pretty ridiculous prices on the E-reader books you have access to on Kindle devices. If you want to pick up some cheap books (for under a dollar) from some of the top authors out there, you can make use of Prime Day Kindle deals too.
Of course, there are plenty of Kindle accessories out there, and if you find the official Amazon ones a bit too pricey, there's no reason to give up your search. We found loads of third-party cases with some classy designs on offer in July. Whatever we find when the unconfirmed October event starts, we'll update this page.
Until then, take a look down below at some desired/expected prices for each Kindle model. While some of these are accurate to what we saw in previous sales, others are a more general ballpark figure we're hoping for.
Watchlist:
Will the Kindle Colorsoft get discounted on Prime Day?
Since the Colorsoft is the latest and most advanced model of Kindle, I don't blame you if you've been waiting around for Prime Day in the hopes of a discount. Since it only launched last October, it might be on the list for a celebratory birthday price cut. It actually got a small discount in terms of its essentials and signature bundles in July, which gives me hope that Amazon is going to use it as a flagship deal for October's Prime Day in 2025.
Of course, a color display is a pretty flashy selling point, and if Kindle wants to take the fight directly to Kobo and reMarkable, it might want to make the Colorsoft a more affordable option. We saw the Kindle Scribe get some great discounts last year as the flagship Kindle device, so maybe we could see that for the Colorsoft this year.
What about the competition?
Kindles aren't the only E-reader tablets out there, and alternatives could offer you a better experience, depending on what you're looking for. Particularly if you're interested in the Kindle Scribe, the reMarkable is a solid option. There are some great alternatives to regular E-readers too, and they might save you some money.
reMarkable 2 / Paper Pro / Move
The reMarkable devices are actually fairly simplistic devices, but that's by design. If you struggle to keep focus, or you're mainly attracted to the Kindle Scribe for its notetaking and writing experience, then this fancy bit of tech might be a godsend to you. This newer models called the reMarkable Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move, have colored displays.
MSRP: $549 at Best Buy| £419 at reMarkable
Alternative to: The Kindle Scribe
Kobo Clara
The Kobo line of E-readers from Rakuten has long been one of Kindle's biggest competitors. The Clara offers similar features to the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite, in that it's got a ComfortLight screen, touch display, and it's waterproof. It's found on sale fairly frequently, so it might be a good alternative for those on a tight budget.
MSRP: $129.99 at Amazon | £99.99 at Amazon
Alternative to: The Kindle / Kindle Paperwhite
Prime Day Kindle deals: FAQ
When will October's Prime Day Kindle deals begin?
Now that the Amazon Prime Day deals are live as of October 7, the offers will continue to run until October 8, 2025 at 12am local time. I'd be tuned into our coverage for a few days leading up to the event, however, as some models might go on offer as early birds around then.
Do you need a Prime membership for Prime Day Kindle deals?
Although a lot of Prime Day deals don't turn out to be Prime exclusive, any deals on Amazon Products like Fire TVs or Kindles are usually locked behind a Prime subscription paywall. Having said that, take a look at the trial below to try and skirt around paying for it.
Free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime
You'll need a Prime membership in order to take advantage of most Kindle deals but don't fear. You can get a free 30-day trial starting today, cover yourself for the event, and then cancel before the payments kick in.
July's best Prime Day Kindle deals
If you still don't know what to expect from October's Big Deal Days Kindle discounts, thie list below might be of use. These are all of the best offers I found during July's Prime Day Kindle sales, which I put into the freezer at the end of July and saved for you to read now. These are preserved perfectly, ready for you to use to help budget for a few weeks' time.
Kindle Scribe Essentials Bundle | $479 $269.97 at Amazon
Save $210 - The most expensive Kindle gets the largest discount on its Essentials bundle, and the discount is still around for the last day of sales. If you aren't a fan of pink accessories, don't worry, the Black and Denim fabric covers are available for this price too.
Kindle Essentials Bundle | $161 $103.97 at Amazon
Save $57 - This is a new record low Prime day Kindle deal for the basics bundle, coming down a whole five dollars from its previous lowest discount seen yesterday. We didn't expect it to drop this much, meaning it's an excellent snag at this late stage in the sales season.
Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle | $216 $144.97 at Amazon
Save $72 - Now at 10 dollars off the already juicy discount seen earlier this Prime Day, the Paperwhite Essentials bundle has never been cheaper. This deal is unlikely to stick around after Prime Day, so you'll want to jump on this record-low offer while it lasts.
Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle (leather cover) | $222.97 $147.97 at Amazon
Save $75 - This is a record low price for the plant-based leather cover version of the Kindle Paperwhite Essentials bundle, a nice and sleeker alternative to the fabric variant offered above.
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition Essentials Bundle | $276.97 $178.97 at Amazon
Save $98 - It's a new record-low Prime Day Kindle deal for the swanky Paperwhite Signature, coming down a whole ten bucks in just one day. The 32GB Paperwhite comes with a wireless charging stand and a fabric cover, is available in Jade or Raspberry, and has never been cheaper by my research.
Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition | $279.99 $179.99 at Amazon
Save $100 - This is the lowest price we've seen the Colorsoft drop to so far, with a massive $100 saving off the standard price, this is a great discount to kickstart the Amazon Prime Day deals. If you've waiting to pick this one up for less, this is a great chance to snap it up, and you can also get it with 3 months of Kindle Unlimited to boot.
Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition Essentials Bundle | $362.97 $211.97 at Amazon
Save $151 - The deals keep coming with the Colorsoft, and this bundle is now at its lowest ever price drop. Along with getting a fancy Kindle with 32GB of storage, you'll be getting a plant-based leather cover and a wireless charging dock. If you want a complete Kindle package, then this is the deal for you!
Kindle Scribe | $399.99 $259.99 at Amazon
Save $140 - This is the lowest price I've seen the Scribe fall to since last year's Prime Day event in July. In October, it only dropped to $279. Last summer, it fell to $259 before receiving a further discount later in the week to $239. It's unclear whether or not that'll happen later this week, but this is still an excellent saving.
Kindle Paperwhite | $159.99 $124.99 at Amazon
Save $35 - This is so far the lowest price we've seen the newest model of the Kindle Paperwhite drop to, with it previously discounting down to $129. With a $35 saving, you can also snap up this 16GB model for less in Jade or Raspberry colorways.
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition | $199.99 $149.99 at Amazon
Save $50 - If you're after the Paperwhite but you're looking for more storage space, there's a fantastic deal going on right now for the Signature Edition. Dropping down to its lowest ever price, this Prime Day offer is well worth considering.
Kindle Paperwhite Kids | $179.99 $129.99 at Amazon
Save $50 - This is a return to the Kindle Paperwhite Kids Edition's lowest-ever price. This price returns more frequently than a lot of the other Kindle deals we see during the summer sale, but that doesn't change anything. This is an early Prime Day deal, so get that free trial in play if you haven't already.
Kindle | $109.99 $84.99 at Amazon
Save $25 - This is the first time we've seen the Kindle drop down to this price, but it's great to see this reduction land during Amazon Prime Day. With a nice little saving on the Kindle 2024 model, you can pick it up for less in Black or Matcha colorways.
Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet | $139.99 $69.99 at Amazon
Save $70 - You can now pick up the newest Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet for 50% on Amazon! This is the lowest that the tablet has ever been, and beating its previous discount of $74 last year. This is the device to pick up if you want an E-reader that does it all. While Amazon Fire tablets used to be called Kindle Fire tablets, they now offer a range of apps and experiences.
Signature Edition Case | $36.99 $29.99 at Amazon
Save $7 - If you have a Signature Edition Paperwhite or Colorsoft Kindle, you can currently pick up a fabric case for its lowest price right now during the Prime Day deals. With three different colors to choose from for the same price tag, it's made from 100% recycled material.
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2022) Wireless Charging Dock | $32.99 $18.99 at Amazon
Save $14 - If you're looking for a charging dock, Anker's wireless model made for Amazon has dropped to its lowest price so far this Prime Day, with a great saving off the standard price tag. Although it's worth noting this is only compatible with the 2022 Paperwhite Signature Edition Kindle.
NuPro Antimicrobial screen protector for Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition | $12.99 $9.99 at Amazon
Save $3- It's easy to forget that you need to protect your Kindle's screen. Be it fingerprints or accidentally spilling something on it when you reach a shocking chapter, your screen can go through it. Luckily, the NuPro Antimicrobial screen protector is among the best options, and now it's got a 23% discount. It has gone for cheaper last year, but it's still the best screen protector deal out there for Paperwhite Signature Edition holders.
Moko Slim Sleeve | $21.99 $12.79 at Amazon
Save $9 - If you're looking for an understated sleeve to keep your Kindle's screen safe, this PU leather case from MoKo is both stylish and compatible with 6.8" and 7" Kindle models. It's currently 42% off, making it the perfect companion for any new Kindle you may be buying.
Amazon Kindle Scribe Premium Pen | $79.99 $64.99 at Amazon
Save $15 - Whether your current Scribe stylus is looking worse for wear or you'd just like a backup, now's your chance to save $15 picking one up. As an added bit of good news, there's no color-pricing shenanigans here - both the tungsten and metallic jade options are discounted the same.
For something a little more premium, we'd recommend staying abreast of all the latest Prime Day iPad deals updates as well. Or, we're also rounding up this year's Prime Day laptop deals and Prime Day TV deals as well.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
One of my earliest memories is playing SuperMario64 and wondering why the controller I held had three grips, but I only had two hands. Ever since I've been in love with video games and their technology. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship at Expert Reviews. Over the last decade, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel about my love of games too. These days, I'm one of the resident hardware nerds at GamesRadar+, and I take the lead on our coverage of gaming PCs, VR, controllers, gaming chairs, and content creation gear. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension.
