The already-impressive cast of Marvel's Doctor Strange could be welcoming another solid name into its line up, as a new report from Heroic Hollywood has Rachel McAdams in the studio's crosshairs. Currently blowing everyone's minds in True Detective season 2, McAdams has more than proven her acting dexterity over the years. She's got drama, comedy, thriller, action and horror on her resume, so a comic book caper would be new terrain.
Thus far, the rumor doesn't reveal who she's in talks to play, just that she's been offered the female lead. The two main female characters in the comics are Morgana Blessing and Clea - both play Dr. Stephen Strange's love interests at varying points, so McAdams could be eyeing up one of those parts. With shooting set to get underway in London later this year, expect an official confirmation or denial shortly.
Should she lock down a deal she's set to join Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Doc, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mundo. Scott Derrickson directs from a script by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016.
