His pal George Lucas might still be tinkering away at Star Wars (sorry to bring that up, we just heard millions of Star Wars fans cry out 'Nooooooo!') but you won't catch Steven Spielberg changing Jurassic Park any time soon.
Speaking at a recent LA Times event, Spielberg said he learned his lesson on E.T .
“I tried this once and lived to regret it," Spielberg said. "Not because of fan outrage, but because I was disappointed in myself."
"I got overly sensitive to [some of the reaction -- including parents who had been less than pleased with the guns in the film] to “E.T.,” and I thought if technology evolved, [I might go in and change some things]… it was OK for a while, but I realised what I had done was I had robbed people who loved “E.T.” of their memories of E.T.”
Steve wasn't slagging off his mate, he'd already stated that if it wasn't for George, we wouldn't have Indiana Jones, but still, we can't help but think he should sit his buddy down for a little chat about releasing the original, untouched, Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray at some point.
